Journey’s End Sir Lowry 2011

Gorgeous South African red wine: subtle chocolate notes combine with trademark Cabernet Sauvignon character; lots of plum, lots of spice.

Journey’s End Sir Lowry Cabernet Sauvignon 2011 is a remarkable wine perfect for the winter season. Strikes great balance of sweet spice, some pepper and that full, seductive plum character.

In the finish are dark chocolate notes that are just a shade the right side of bitter and provide a smooth, velvety texture to the wine. Tannins are well integrated, so it’s a wine you can easily savour on its own.

Some oak character is carried through, with the wine feeling fuller-than-full in the mouth, but in that seductive, creamy fashion rather than distastefully.

Excellent wine.
