Salmon 100% Meunier NV

A 100% Meunier Champagne with plenty of bold maturity, yet still light and versatile.

Sometimes you get Champagnes at this price range that just suffer from too long on their lees and not enough fruit behind it. Thankfully, Alexandre Salmon’s house NV is noth one of them.

Instead in this single variety bubbly you get a full mouthfeel with a predominantly citrus palette, biscuity complexity and a coarse texture from the bubbles. That coarse feeling is by no means unpleasant, instead it highlights fruits like green pear and apple.

The length is classic Champagne with its bite of refreshing acidity and lingering notes reminiscent of digestive biscuits.

A crowd-pleaser.

Serve with…

…for me it’s the perfect “posh fish n’ chips” sparkling wine. However it’s light enough to be versatile alongside nibbles, hard cheese and poultry dishes.
