Tre Fiori Greco di Tufo DOCG 2014

A truly unique wine that harvests some of Italy’s most expressive character.

This dry, full-bodied white wine made from the fairly unknown Greco grapes grown in Campania, looks very light and pale yellow in the glass. It’s clean; there’s no legs and just a tinge of green.

On the nose it’s a beauty. Tropical fruits, apricots and pineapples with a buttery oak note. A bouquet of fruits.

Following through on the palette and the dominant sensation is a unique “creamy pineapple” flavour and texture. There’s also some vivacity with the wine’s citrus acidity and lemon notes, although this is pleasantly rounded making it an ideal partner with food.

A very drinkable white wine.

Currently selling at £10.99 via Waitrose Cellar (75cl, 30 Sept 2015).

Serve with…

…chilli-based stir fries. It’s also a wonderful wine alongside some crispy fried squid with plenty of lemon, salt and pepper seasoning. Check out Jamie’s recipe for a good example.
